Who is a bad dog?!

Notice anything in this picture that a naughty doggie might have been responsible for? No?

Look a little closer, how about now?

Good thing this gift is for me, I'd be embarrassed to give this to someone! There is nothing even remotely edible inside, so I am not sure why she wanted to get into it so badly. You can also see scrach marks on it like she was pawing at it. Bad doggie! I know what she is getting in her stocking this year.

Daisy & the Kitten

While we were in CT this weekend we took Daisy to visit John's cousin. His cousin warned us she had a kitten but since Daisy gets along so well with our cat Micah we didn't think it'd be problem. The kitten was all puffy and hissy when Daisy arrived but as soon as she realized Daisy wasn't a threat she became obsessed with Daisy. For some reason this made Daisy very uncomfortable. She kept relocating herself on the couch to get away from the ferocious kitten.

She'll sleep anywhere!

Now that it has gotten colder Daisy is all about snuggling up to keep warm. The other day I was sitting on the floor with my back against the couch and Daisy walked over and plopped herself right down against my shoulders. Now really, does that look comfortable??

Daisy takes a Break

For some reason Daisy loves to lick my husbands face. She will just lick and lick and lick if he doesn't stop her. That is of course assuming she doesn't get tired and needs a break. Hey Licking is HARD work!

Bully Sticks

Recently the kind people at Best Bully's contacted me and asked if I'd like a free Bully Stick for Daisy to try. We have been purchasing similar sticks at Petsmart and in our household they are known as the "good bones". They are Daisy's absolute favorite so of course I said I'd love a free sample! I was expecting just a single bone but not only did they include 2 of the 6 inch bully sticks they also sent 2 of the large ones for Daisy to try.

Before I even opened the box Daisy was circling it and sniffing it. She knew what was inside! She was VERY excited for me to open it and share the contents with her. No surprise to me, but she LOVED her new bully sticks. Notice the discarded rawhide bones in the background. We will definitely be placing an order with Best Bully's next time Daisy is running low on good bones. Their prices are much better than petsmart. 2, 12 inch sticks at petsmart are $13.99! At best bully you can get the 12 inch stick for a mere $1.79 a piece, what a big difference!

Thanks for the free samples Mike!

Daisy is Famous!

Earlier this year I was contacted by Meg Frost of Cute Overload saying she was considering using one of the photos I submitted of Daisy for the 2009 calendar and was hoping to get my permission (in exchange for a free calendar). On Friday I received a package containing you guessed it, the 2009 cute overload calendar. There were tens of thousands of photos sumbited and Daisy's photo was selected! She is January 20th! She does not seem fazed by her new found celebrity!

Doggie Happy hour

Last week since the weather was a little more comfortable than it's been all summer we decided to take advantage of it and take Daisy to Doggie Happy hour. Her friends Murray and Ethel joined us for some tasty treats and cool beverages. It was a lot of fun, we'll have to go again sometime.

Daisy in the water

I can't believe it has been so long since I posted!!

A couple weeks ago I took Daisy to the Shirlington dog park for a doggie play date. It was much warmer than it had been as of late so I put her in the water to cool her off fully expecting her to head immediately for shore, give how much she likes being wet. It must have been refreshing because she stayed in the water and even sat down in it! Not the reaction I was expecting at all!

This is SO sad!

Purloined pug tale leaves owners sad

DALLAS, Texas (AP) -- The holidays were sad enough for Kim Velevis and her husband after their lovable pug "Scooter" dug its way out of the backyard and disappeared on Christmas Eve.Rob Velevis holds a laptop with a photo of Scooter while Kim holds the letter, cash from an anonymous source. But the real blow came with the new year: A letter from an anonymous woman who had found the friendly dog and gave it to her daughter as a Christmas present. To compensate for Velevis' loss, a $20 bill was enclosed."The puppy has a different name now, but he has plenty of food and toys. My daughter adores him. He sleeps with her every night," said the letter, which arrived Wednesday.Velevis, 28, said she feels for the guilt-ridden woman, who described herself as a nearly penniless alcoholic. But she wants the dog back."We knew the first thing our Scooter would have done is find people," Velevis said. "He must have wandered up to this sick lady who, in desperation and in an attempt to fix her own life, ruined ours."Velevis, who is 51/2 months pregnant with her first child, said she and her husband brought the wrinkly faced pooch home in July 2006 when he was about 8 weeks old.Scooter could still be nearby. The typewritten letter, which carried a Tulsa, Oklahoma, postmark, said the woman found the dog while visiting her daughter in Dallas. She wrote that her ex-husband has custody of the girl. The woman, who discovered an address on the pug's collar, described a series of difficulties in her life."I lost custody because of problems I had with alcohol, and I have lost everything else," she wrote. "I have been sober for 6 months, and I am trying to turn myself around, but I have lost everything. My little girl wanted a pug dog like your little dog (very much!)"The woman wrote that she cannot ask for forgiveness, "but I do want you to know that he does have people who love him and are taking care of him."Velevis said she has no interest in pursuing charges against the woman and would be glad to purchase the woman's daughter another dog.
